Meet Dr. Stacey, your candidate for North Island - Powell River
Dr. Stacey graduated from the University of Guelph Ontario Veterinary College in 1991. That same year he moved to British Columbia with his wife and classmate Dr. Tammi Whelan. Stacey is first generation Canadian of Greek Macedonian parents who immigrated to Canada in the 50s after the Greek civil war.
For 28 years, Stacey owned a Veterinary Clinic in Merville, and his mobile clinic provided veterinary services to surrounding communities until 2010 when he moved the hospital to Comox. Stacey and Tammi raised their family, ran the hospital and farmed until semi-retiring last year. He now provides veterinary locum relief work throughout BC.
Throughout his career, Stacey assisted the regional Wild Bird Centre MARS in Merville with hospital planning, sitting on the board of directors and delivering medicine and surgery to robins, eagles and everything in between for 28 years. When he isn’t working or volunteering, Stacey enjoys fishing, canoeing, mountain biking and team-building.
More recently, Dr Stacey became involved with Maverick Party. After carefully considering what Maverick could do for the people, he became committed to the cause.
He joined the Maverick Party Governing Council and served as liason for electoral districts and candidates. He was passionate about the Maverick cause, but quickly realized he had to bring that hope back here to the communities he loves. That was when he decided to take a leave from the Council and enter the running as a candidate.
New to politics, Stacey sees a monumental yet achievable goal of bringing power and a voice of reason to Ottawa from the west so western families can thrive and reach their full potential.
He believes supporting resource industries, delivering products to global markets while using their internally driven environmental technology, which are cutting-edge, is the path to a healthy and prosperous west.
Stacey brings ‘west coast’ family living and private business experience to Maverick North Island - Powell River. In addition, his vision, compassion and tenacity give him the right mix to be a strong candidate for the riding, and a force to be reckoned with as a future MP.
Stacey hopes you will join him to create a unified western federal Maverick Party and help defend and protect our way of life, and support getting the best deal confederation has to offer to us here on North Island - Powell River, BC.
